The mission of the Friends of Valhalla Ski Club is to enhance cross country skiing facilities and trail grooming and maintenance at Valhalla Recreation Area, Valkyrie and Teuton trail systems within the USDA Chequamegon National Forest, provide members with quality cross country ski opportunities and member events, to create and enhance a cross country ski community and sport specific culture.

This year in partnership with 4HCANSKI we are hosting a xc ski race at Valhalla Recreation Area. Please go to this link for information.

Successes to date include:

* Raised money to help the Forest Service purchase a new snowmobile for grooming.

* Took over grooming labor with four volunteers this year.

* Increased the frequency of grooming this season.

Future goals:

* New Kiosk at Trailhead

* Stipend for "volunteer" groomers

* Grow funds to be ready to replace equipment as needed.

* Work with snowmobile club to change problem areas of the trail system.
